Jesus is Lord. Answers to Prayer

Jesus is Lord. Answers to Prayer

The airplane of two New Zealand pilots ran out of fuel, and they began praying to Jesus for their
lives. The geography of the immediate area did not offer any visible
place to land as their plane was dangerously low in fuel. Pilots
Grant Stubbs and Owen Wilson were both Christians and their immediate
action was to pray for God's help. Their engine spluttered, coughed and died.
As they crossed a ridge and began endangered of a life threatening crash, they came across a grass airfield that they did
not know existed. Owen Wilson glided their powerless airplane
to an emergency landing on the grassy strip. After landing the two
pilots noticed they were right beside a 20-foot-tall sign that read, "Jesus is Lord — The Bible."
They were thrilled that God answered their pray and as they were reminded that
Jesus was their Lord.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — It seemed like an almost literal answer to their prayers. When two New Zealand pilots
ran out of fuel in a microlight airplane they offered prayers and were able to make an emergency
landing in a field — coming to rest right next to a sign reading, "Jesus is Lord."

Grant Stubbs and Owen Wilson, both from the town of Blenheim on the country's South Island, were flying up the
sloping valley of Pelorus Sound when the engine spluttered, coughed and died.

"My friend and I are both Christians so our immediate reaction in a life-threatening situation was to
ask for God's help," Stubbs told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

He said he prayed during the ill-fated flight Sunday that the tiny craft
would get over the top of a ridge and that they would find a landing site that was not too steep —
or in the nearby sea.

Wilson said that the pair would have been in deep trouble if the fuel had run out five minutes earlier.

"If it had to run out, that was the place to be," he said. "There was an instantaneous answer to prayer as
we crossed the ridge and there was an airfield — I didn't know it existed till then."

After Wilson glided the powerless craft to a landing on the grassy strip, the pair noticed they were
beside a 20-foot-tall sign that read, "Jesus is Lord — The Bible."

"When we saw that, we started laughing," Stubbs said.

Nearby residents provided them with gas to fly the home-built plane back to base.

South Carolina Senate passes Ten Commandments Bill

South Carolina Senate passes Ten Commandments Bill

The South Carolina Senate passed a measure that allows local governments in
South Carolina to post a number of commonly held religious documents in public places, including the Lord's Prayer
and the Ten Commandments.

The documents would have to be labeled as "historical" in their display, which, along with previous
U.S. Supreme Court rulings, senators hope will give them constitutional cover for the displays.

The bill, without the Lord's Prayer amendment, already passed the House and now returns there for legislators to
determine whether they agree with the Senate's change. If they agree, the bill goes to Gov. Mark Sanford.

The bill would allow public bodies, including schools, to display a set of 11 documents lawmakers say help make up the
nation's foundation of law and government. Included are the Declaration of Independence, the Magna Carta,
the Bill of Rights, the Emancipation Proclamation, as well as the national motto, "In God We Trust."

"The historical documents bill passed by the Senate is a win because it will help to further educate people
about the documents that formed the foundation of our country's history and provide deeper meaning to the great and
rich history that we have in this country," said Sen. Larry Martin of Pickens, who shepherded the issue through the Senate.
"It will also be a great tool for history, civic and government teachers to use in their classroom."

Many of us realize that the Ten Commandments have been posted in about
4,000 public places, and that local governments already have the
authority to post the Ten Commandments and other documents. Due to
the mass confusion caused by the news media and a few court decisions,
lawmakers are passing legislation to reinstate the Ten Commandments.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- Opponents of a Ten Commandments monument in Fargo, North Dakota,
have filed a civil lawsuit against the city, asking that the granite marker be removed.
The lawsuit was filed by Red River Freethinkers, who say this is unconstitutional conduct.

The Freethinkers contend that their rights were violated when Fargo refused to allow them to put up their
own monument near the Ten Commandments monument on city property.
The proposed monument would say, "The government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the
Christian religion."

The Freethinkers lost an earlier attempt to have the Ten Commandments monument removed.
Federal Judge Ralph Erickson ruled in 2005 that the monument celebrates both religious and secular ideals
and does not violate the Constitution.

Congress Requested to Honor the Ten Commandments

Congress Requested to Honor the Ten Commandments

Ten Commandments A coalition of faith-based groups has joined forces,
calling on Congress to pass resolutions in both houses to focus on the Ten Commandments.

Bill Murray, son of deceased atheist leader Madelyn Murray O'Hair and chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition,
is part of the pro-Ten Commandments coalition.

"Both of resolutions would authorize a Ten Commandments weekend in order to recognize the
Ten Commandments as the foundation of law in this country," Murray explains. "But with Nancy Pelosi in charge of the
House and Harry Reid in charge of the Senate, we can't have a voice. We can't get these out and open and celebrate the
Ten Commandments," he contends.

According to Murray, it will take a grassroots effort to get a vote. "Hopefully, people will get the word that these
resolutions exist and call their congressman and call their senators and let them know that we need these passed,"
Murray points out.

Murray says the resolutions are stalled. "The prospect of passing anything that respects our social values and the
Christian heritage of the nation is extremely difficult," he laments. "Nancy Pelosi has spent most of the time as House Speaker naming federal buildings .... Over 40 percent of the bills that have passed were to name buildings.

"She's done things like putting soybeans in the congressional cafeteria, and nothing happens there," he continues.
"And if it has anything to do with the cause of Christ or with social values or family values, it's just totally ignored.
It's very difficult and we need to bring pressure to bear upon her to do things like this," Murray urges.

Strangely enough, the Supreme Court has a Ten Commandments display,
but Congress so far will not budge on honoring them.

Call your Congressman now and ask them to vote for the Ten
Commandments Resolution 202-224-3121.

Ten Commandments Day

Ten Commandments Day the first Sunday in May.

Ask your church to be involved. Give your church secretary a short one paragraph Church Bulletin Announcement,
to add to your church bulletin on that day.

The first Sunday of May is Ten Commandments Day.
President James Madison reflected best the importance of our commitment to God's standard when he noted that
America's success was dependent upon the determination of "each and every one of us to govern ourselves, to control
ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God." The Ten Commandments is the most commonly
posted scripture in our society, being posted in over 4,000 public places and in millions of churches and homes.
The Ten Commandments convicts us of our sin and Jesus forgives us and saves us.

"And thou shalt write them the posts of thy house, and on thy gates." Deuteronomy 6:9.
The most important reminder of today is to obey the Ten Commandments.

The Flawed Philosophy of Obamanomics
by Judge Roy Moore March 19, 2009

Interest rates of 21%. Inflation rate 12.5%. Consumer Price Index rising 13% annually. Unemployment rate 7.5%. Top personal tax rate of 70%. Government spending constituted 43% of total spending.
Does this sound familiar? It should. This was the economy President Reagan inherited from President Carter in 1981.
Ronald Reagan took the reins of government and immediately set forth his Program for Economic Recovery with four major policy objectives: (1) reduce the growth of government spending; (2) reduce the marginal tax rates on income from both labor and capital; (3) reduce government regulation of business; and (4) reduce inflation by controlling the growth of the money supply. In short, Reagan's plan was to reduce the size and scope of government so that private enterprise could flourish and thereby solve the nation's economic woes.
Reagan's economic policy became known as "Reaganomics" and was the biggest change in U.S. economic policy since the New
Deal. "Only by reducing the growth of government can we increase the growth of the economy," Reagan explained.
The maximum personal tax rate was cut from 70% to 50% and further cut to 28% in 1986. Across the board, federal income
taxes were reduced by 25%.
And it worked! By 1988 the unemployment rate had dropped to 5.5%, interest rates had been cut to between 6 and 8%, and
the inflation rate was reduced to between 2 and 3%. Government's share of total spending was cut to 40%.
President Reagan presided over the longest period of peacetime economic growth in American history,
and he left the nation in far better economic condition than he found it.

While Reagan sought to reduce the size and scope of government, decrease taxes and regulations that chained the private sector, and allow the private sector to flourish,
Obama's solution is to dramatically increase federal spending by stimulus packages in excess of $3 trillion dollars (so far),
thereby injecting the federal government into the economy at a scale that dwarfs anything previous.
And with increased federal aid comes increased control by the federal government over banks, the auto industry,
medicine, education, and other areas of the economy too numerous to mention.
Ignoring the lessons of our history, Obama's economic policies of big government, enlarged federal control over our lives,
and eventually, as even he predicts, increased taxation has garnered a name of its own, "Obamanomics."
Obamanomics is simply the philosophy of socialism,
loosely defined as "collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production or distribution of goods."
Nations which embrace socialism inevitably experience stagnation and economic decline.
Socialism is contrary to the laws of God concerning private property and liberty of contract, and also contrary to the
basic laws of human nature, which teach us over and over that unless people have an incentive to work hard and be productive,
they will become lazy and live off the production of others.
Adam Smith, the Scottish economist whose Wealth of Nations (1776) was eagerly read by America's Founding Fathers, spoke of the "Invisible Hand"
that guides the economic affairs of all nations by the laws of nature: principles of private property, liberty of contract,
supply and demand, and others. Reflecting those principles, Patrick Henry declared,
"Fetter not commerce, sir; let her be as free as air; she will range the whole creation,
and return on the wings of the four winds of heaven, to bless the land with plenty."

These time-tested laws of economics will not fail us if we apply them today. And why should we think that we can ignore
or violate these laws, without reaping disastrous consequences?

The Ten Commandments in the News:

Pro Life organization presents Ten Commandments to the Florida Levy County
Commission of a 6-foot-by 5-foot-by-3-foot black granite monument detailing the
Ten Commandments and additional words "Love God and Keep His Commandments."

An application to give the gift of the Ten Commandments was by the Tri County Pregnancy Center of Williston was presented by
County Coordinator Fred Moody after being brought to the commission's meeting on Tuesday by Sheriff Johnny Smith.

According to the handwritten application by Debra Osborn, executive director of
the center, "The monument is a display of the Ten Commandments our nation was
created on the principles of Christianity. The Christian Faith including the
Ten Commandments has been a driving force in the Constitution, Bill of Rights
and numerous other documents that have played a part in the history of our
nation."

The proposed monument is a duplicate of one sitting on the lawn of the
Chiefland City Hall and the steps of the Dixie County Courthouse in
Cross City. Both of those monuments were donated to the respective governments.

In the case of the Chiefland Commandments, Pastor Travis Hudson of Hardeetown Baptist Church was a driving force behind erecting the monument.

Lawsuit filed against the Ten Commandments in Ohio.

Christians turned out in large numbers for a rally Sunday in support of a
public display of the Biblical ten Commandments on government property in
Lockland. Organizers say the display has been part of community for many years
and and represents community values.

Dozens gathered in front of display Sunday afternoon, some from as far away as
Kentucky and Indiana. Some held signs and sang songs.

The current mayor says display was donated some years ago by former mayor Jim Brown. Mark Mason organized the rally and tells Local 12, "This 10 commandments is very important to this community as shown by the outpouring of people today and we just want it to be left alone. This is very important here to the residents
and we just want it to be left alone, it's not hurting anybody."

4,000 permanent monuments to the Ten Commandments have been placed in
public places across America. The Commandments are the most popular
passage of scripture to be displayed in public places in America.

-------------------------

2. Deuteronomy 6 - Requires posting the Ten Commandments in Public Places.
7. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
8. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

The word "Gates" in verse 9 refers to public places. A review of the word "Gates" in scripture clearly demonstrates this.
For example. Boaz got permission from the elders at the "gate" to marry Ruth. See Ruth 4, 1, 11. The word "gate" refers to a public place of commerce like a courthouse.
Over 4000 of our forefathers have publicly posted the Ten Commandments in public places in America in obedience to the direction of
Deuteronomy 6: 9. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
The Ten Commandments is the most commonly posted publicly passage of scripture in the Bible and the only one that we are told to publicly display.
The children learn them when they are on display.

The Rally for Religious Freedom is meant to raise alarm over the nation's new
Federal "hate crimes" law just passed by Congress and signed last month by
President Obama. The intention of the rally the group is to assert the freedom of speech of ministers and Christians in general to declare biblical truth in the public square.
The Rally will also expose the unconstitutional nature of the hate law.

Moses told us to post the Ten Commandments

Deuteronomy 6:1-9
1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

Ten Commandments

Requirement to Display Commandments in Public Places

Deut 6:9. "And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates,"

We are commanded to put them in public places. The word "gates" of Deuteronomy 6:9 refers to public places. For example, in Ruth 4:1-11, Boaz went to talk to the elders in the "Gates" to obtain permission to marry Ruth and obtain the rights to her land inheritance.

Other passages like wise demonstrate this as well, I Kings 22:10, Ps 127: 5, Deut 14: 27-28, Deut 25: 7-8, and Ps 24:7. Our forefathers have obeyed the command to publicly post the them on our gates (public places), and have done so in over 4,000 public places across the United States alone, and many more in Europe. No other verse or passage of scripture is displayed in public places (Courthouses, parks, city halls) like the they are. The Commandments is the only passage of scripture that we are told to display in public.

Judge Roy Moore is only one of 4,000 of our leaders who have made permanent public displays of the moral law of commandments in the U.S. Our forefathers have been doing this custom for centuries, publicly placing the Commandments in stone or metal monuments. He is obviously the most prominent in recent history because he has refused to retreat from the pressure of the liberal politically correct, and he is one of the highest office holders to demonstrate courage under fire. We need to follow the example of thousands of our forefathers, and Judge Moore, and obey and display the moral law, and place in the "gates" or public places (Gates). This is the heritage and examples our forefathers set before us when they established America. We have over 4,000 examples set before us, the Commandments is the most commonly placed scripture in public. It is so popular that the second or third place scripture has not been determined.

Places in the Bible, that "Gates" refers to public places, or seats of government. We are commanded to post them on the "Gates"

Ruth 4 contains the story of Boaz going to the elders at the "GATES" (public place similar to a court house) and obtains legal permisssion and legal right to marry Ruth.

Ruth 4: 1-11

1 Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.

2 And he took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, Sit ye down here. And they sat down.

3 And he said unto the kinsman, Naomi, that is come again out of the country of Moab, selleth a parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelech's:

4 And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem it: but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it.

5 Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.

6 And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it.

7 Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbour: and this was a testimony in Israel.

8 Therefore the kinsman said unto Boaz, Buy it for thee. So he drew off his shoe.

9 And Boaz said unto the elders, and unto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech's, and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's, of the hand of Naomi.

10 Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.

11 And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:

Deuteronomy 14:27-28

27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.

28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:

Deuteronomy 25:7-8

7 And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuse to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother.

8 Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;
